Bringing the bling to our lighting projects

We are very excited to be adding architectural lighting to our capabilities! Siva Nadella joined Powerplant this month, bringing impressive experience in feature lighting projects, including Flinders St Station and several of Melbourne’s city bridges, along with a network of contacts in lighting manufacture and steel fabrication.

Powerplant will now be a one stop shop for lighting design solutions, adding to our market-leading street and public lighting offering with:

  • Architectural lighting for commercial buildings
  • Feature lighting for façades, sculptures, parks, bridges & other public spaces
  • Landscape lighting & inground flagpole lighting
  • Recommendations for public flood lighting, warehouses & sports fields
  • Overseeing custom luminaire design, manufacturing & installation

We have big plans for this area of our business and look forward to seeing Siva’s designs add great value to our client’s projects.

Celebrating 40 years in the game

Powerplant are so incredibly proud to help celebrate our CEO’s 40th year in the industry today. John (JK) started in the SEC 40 years ago at the Lilydale depot as a junior worker after his Dad called him in as they were short and he thought he would give it a shot. 40 years on and he has given so much to those who have worked with him through both leadership, knowledge and most of all friendship.

Before joining Powerplant, JK had many successes but most recently he was the man behind establishing and building Select Solutions. JK was the driving force behind such achievements as:

  • Delivering exceptional levels of customer satisfaction with a Net Promoter Score of over 50;
  • Building a high performing culture with Select Solutions being accredited as a Best Employer by AON Hewitt and having an employee engagement score of 80%, also;
  • Leading Select Solutions to being recognised as one of Australia’s 40 Most Innovative Companies by the AFR.

I am sure all that have worked with JK over the years will agree the industry has been lucky to have this great bloke apart of it. Congratulations JK!

Now, take a look at the pic below and see if you can guess which one he is…

Passing on the Baton

Powerplant are extremely proud of our Director, Greg Plant, who last Friday represented the team in passing on the award for Casey Cardinia Business of the Year to SJD Homes. Greg spoke to the evenings host, Livinia Nixon on the boost the award has given the business, which had 50 employees this time last year but has now grown to employ 85. Greg went on to say, “We thought we had a pretty good business, but it was really satisfying to know that someone else thought the same thing. Staff really appreciated the recognition. Winning the award took the business up a step. It gave us a new view of what was possible.” Congratulations now goes to SJD Homes, we hope you are as proud of your achievement as we are for 2017.
