  • Accredited to design and project manage infrastructure upgrades across NSW (ASP3) and Victoria (VESI/PM2/PMC).

  • Establish new lighting assets, including street lighting and architectural lighting systems.

  • Sustainable energy consulting, including design and connection of renewable energy to the grid.

  • Upgrade, relocate, and underground electrical network assets for infrastructure projects including road and rail.

  • Tailor electrical project management, field detailing and auditing packages for large residential and commercial developments.

  • Corrosion protection and SCADA services to assess, protect and maintain underground steel assets for gas and water.

Why work with us

For all services we can liaise with electricity supply companies on your behalf, simplifying the process for you. We can also design and develop a competitively priced alternative solution to meet your needs, using the contestable process and contractors authorised to carry out electrical work on the network in your area. This gives you the option to have your project completed in the least costly and most technically and commercially appropriate way.

We can provide advice, design services, and connect your renewable energy infrastructure to the electrical distribution network.

Our team have logged 1,000,000+ hours without a Lost Time Injury since 2016. Our excellent safety record doesn’t happen by chance – we are proactive in our approach to safety, actively seeking out and considering risks. We apply innovative safety thinking in our design and project management work for our customers and encourage all our team members to be safety leaders.

Our skilled team of designers, drafters and project managers is constantly growing to meet customer demands, along with a network of experienced and accredited support companies.

We are well resourced, equipped with the latest design, drafting and project management tools and have the flexibility to be quickly called upon to prepare design, project management and construction solutions.

We maintain close relationships with all electricity network operators, government stakeholders and equipment suppliers so we can solve problems for our customers and deliver timely, efficient and high-quality project outcomes.

I just want to say a quick thank you for all the effort you have put in over the last 12 months on AusNet projects. Without your hard work, we wouldn’t have been able to deliver on such a large amount of designs. Well done to everybody. In the last 12 months, Powerplant have helped deliver the following high profile projects; Dixons Creek PRF (14km), Castella PRF (11km), Don Rd, Healesville PRF (6km) ,Menzies Rd PRF (16km), 10 NMS Stage 2 projects, 5 56M projects. We have another 2 PRF projects to get through at the start of 2018 and then I look forward to working closely with you all on the next wave of REFCL projects. Thanks again for all your hard work.

John Holland was awarded the Mernda Rail Extension from South Morang Station to Mernda, adding approx. 8km of additional rail network inclusive of 3 new premium stations, a driver’s facility and rail stabling yards. As part of the works, major AusNet Services power infrastructure was required to be relocated across the entire length of the project. Works required included relocation of underground and overhead 22kV & LV lines, street lighting and installing new HV feeds to all stations and new rail traction substations. John Holland engaged the services of Powerplant to undertake Design and Project Management for the relocation of above ground assets, underground assets, and street lighting assets to assist in delivering the project. Through partnering with Powerplant, John Holland achieved relocation of assets on timeframes months ahead of what would normally apply. John Holland looks forward to working jointly with Powerplant across future infrastructure projects.
