Bass Coast EV charging stations

We worked with the Bass Coast Shire Council on the delivery of public electric vehicle charging stations across six locations: Public DC charging at the Grantville Transaction Centre, Newhaven Visitor Centre, Wonthaggi Art Space, and Inverloch Community Hub; AC Fleet charging at Wonthaggi Community Hub, and Wonthaggi Depot.
This was an important project for the Council and its Climate Change Action Plan. The transport sector was estimated to contribute almost 30% of the Bass Coast’s greenhouse gas emissions. Supporting local EV charging infrastructure can therefore help achieve targets for net zero emissions by 2030.
The locations were selected to address barriers for residents in taking up EVs, including range anxiety and town connectivity, and provide critical assets for tourists relying on convenient EV charging at their destination. The 60 kW EV charging stations developed offer 3-phase CCS2 and CHAdeMO charge points to enable fast charging.
We supported Council at each stage of the journey from the feasibility studies through to completion in March 2025. This included advising on technology procurement, undertaking the detailed electrical design and coordinating with the network, AusNet Services, on all connection requirements.
It’s a good example of the type of projects our team is participating in as the network of EV charge points expands nationally.
