Scope of works
- DCVG service to multiple pipelines
Technicians from our Corrosion Protection team spent four weeks conducting DCVG (Direct Current Voltage Gradient) surveys on several pipelines in Adelaide and surrounding areas. DCVG is a method of survey to check the effectiveness of corrosion protection measures on underground steel structures, in this case gas pipelines, which prevent voltage escaping.
Each survey confirmed the size and location of any defects to the coating and measured the voltage gradients in the soil above the protected pipeline. The findings were reported to the customer along with recommendations for physical examinations and possible repairs as needed. This was a labor-intensive job with access and weather issues to contend with, and our highly experienced team impressed the customer, finishing under budget and a week earlier than anticipated.
